​About Us

The Rockville Lions Club is best known for fighting blindness,
​but we also aid the community in many other ways, including:
  • Collecting and distributing used eyeglasses
  • Conducting vision and hearing screenings with our mobile equipment
  • Supporting youth league sports
  • Organizing and sponsoring of Leo Clubs for middle and high school students
  • Holding blood drives jointly with the American Red Cross 
  • Operating and funding Lions Camp Merrick in Charles County, MD (LionsCampMerrick.org) which serves special needs youth

Who We Are

​We are a non-profit, all-volunteer organization helping those in need throughout the greater Rockville, MD area. 

What We Do

​We provide eyeglasses and eye exams, hearing aids, books for children, scholarships for Montgomery College Students and much, much more!

How We Do It

​We host fundraising events to help pay for our efforts, including citrus fruit sales, pancake breakfasts, model train shows, white cane days and ice cream sales at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. 

How We Are Different

All net proceeds from our fundraising efforts go to help those in need. No funds are retained for overhead or administrative expenses, as we are all volunteers. In fact, Lions Clubs International Foundation was recently awarded the coveted 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the highest rating possible. We work hard and... we have fun! 

What You Can Do To Help

​We always welcome new members who are willing to assist those in our community. We meet at the Rockville Campus of Montgomery College on the first and third Wednesday of each month, at 7pm. We share a meal, catch up on our activities and occasionally have a guest make a presentation. Feel free to stop by one of our meetings or events.
